Yellowstone Opens Lottery for 2026-27 Non-Guided Snowmobile Permits

The National Park Service announced that starting Saturday, August 1, the public can submit applications for the 2026-2027 winter lottery that grants non‑commercially guided snowmobile access to Yellowstone National Park. The lottery will allocate a limited number of permits for the upcoming winter season. Interested riders must apply through the NPS website during the open window; selections will be made by lottery and successful applicants will receive permits that allow self‑guided travel on designated snowmobile routes while complying with park regulations.
