The Department of the Interior is seeking public input to identify and develop long-distance biking trails on public lands. This effort is part of the implementation of the Expanding Public Lands Outdoor Recreation Experiences Act, which includes the Biking on Long-Distance Trails Act. The goal is to identify at least 10 long-distance biking trails that utilize existing trails and roads, as well as 10 areas with potential for future trail development. The Departments of Interior and Agriculture will ensure tribal consultation takes place before establishing new trails.
