The National Park Service, Federal Highway Administration and partners held a ribbon-cutting ceremony today to mark the completion of the Pretty Rocks Bridge at Denali National Park and Preserve. The bridge replaces the washed-out section caused by the August 2021 landslide that forced the closure of the park road's west end.

With the bridge in place, vehicular access to the western trailheads and backcountry areas is expected to resume, improving travel for hunters, hikers and other visitors heading toward the park's remote hunting zones. The agencies say the structure meets modern safety standards and will help manage traffic while protecting the surrounding environment.
