onX Hunt adds new safety and navigation features for 2026 season

onX Hunt announced on Oct 1, 2026 from Missoula, Montana that its navigation app for hunters has been updated with additional safety tools for the upcoming season. The enhancements include a location sharing feature that lets users broadcast their position to trusted contacts, even when out of cell range.

The update also adds fully offline maps and an onX SOS button that can send an emergency signal with GPS coordinates to responders. These tools aim to help hunters stay connected, navigate remote terrain, and prepare for emergencies.
