The National Park Service announced that it will install a network of motion‑activated cameras at the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing in the Santa Monica Mountains. The cameras will record animal movements to evaluate how well the overpass connects habitats split by the 101 freeway.
The data will help managers understand species use of the crossing and guide future habitat‑connectivity projects, benefiting both wildlife and hunters who rely on healthy game populations.
