The National Park Service issued a Finding of No Significant Impact and a Wetlands Floodplains Statement of Findings for the reconstruction of the North Entrance Road that runs between Mammoth Hot Springs, Wyoming, and Gardiner, Montana, in Yellowstone National Park. The agency concluded that the project will not have a major effect on the environment.
With the FONSI in place, the road rebuild can move forward without extensive mitigation requirements. Hunters should stay aware of construction activity and any temporary access changes, but overall access to the corridor is expected to remain open.
