NOAA Fisheries Highlights Conservation Efforts and Calls for Public Comment

NOAA Fisheries recently led Operation Riptide, a multi-state operation targeting highly migratory species enforcement to protect marine life and promote fair fishing practices. The agency is also funding education programs to teach communities about sustainable seafood and has proposed revisions to commercial Atlantic blacknose shark and recreational Atlantic shark fisheries management measures. The public can submit comments on these proposals by March 6 and participate in public hearing webinars on January 22 and 29.
