Glacier National Park Alpine Sections Reopen

The National Park Service announced that the alpine sections of Glacier National Park, including Going-to-the-Sun Road, are open again after officials closed the road at 5 p.m. on September 6, 2026 due to heavy rain and the risk of rockfall, flooding and mudslides.

Hunters heading into the park should verify current trail conditions and remain vigilant for lingering hazards as they plan their backcountry outings.
