The National Park Service announced that Denali National Park and Preserve will open the Denali Park Road to private vehicle traffic as far as the Teklanika Rest Area at mile 30 beginning Friday, Sept. 18, weather and road conditions permitting. The extension gives hunters and other visitors easier access to the park’s northern backcountry, though all standard regulations and permits remain in effect.
