The BLM announced an online map that pinpoints areas of known helium concentrations beneath its public lands. The tool covers the agency’s roughly 245 million acres of surface land and the 700 million acres of subsurface mineral estate it oversees. The agency says the map will help stakeholders, including hunters, plan for possible future leasing or development that could affect access and land use. Users can view the data and submit comments through the BLM’s public input portal.
