The BLM announced it is rescinding a recent partial closure affecting parts of the Prineville District in Oregon. The change restores public access to the affected parcels, allowing hunters, hikers and other recreationists to use the land again. The agency noted it continues to manage roughly 245 million acres of surface land and 700 million acres of subsurface mineral estate nationwide, and will monitor the reopened areas to ensure health and safety.
