The BLM unveiled a desert restoration initiative that will use seed, mud, rolling and tossing techniques to stabilize soils and encourage native vegetation growth. The effort is designed to enhance habitat for game species and improve overall ecosystem health on public lands.

The agency manages roughly 245 million acres of surface land across 12 western states and oversees 700 million acres of subsurface mineral estate. By restoring desert areas, the BLM expects to create better hunting conditions while preserving the land for future generations.
