The National Park of American Samoa sent a nine-member wildland fire crew on Aug. 17, traveling from Pago Pago to the continental United States for a month-long assignment. The team will assist existing wildfire response efforts, adding manpower and expertise to help protect forests and communities. Hunters should monitor fire restrictions and safety updates in areas where the crew is operating, as increased fire activity can affect hunting access and season timing.
